Start With Joy

I recently came across this quote:

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.

-T.S. Eliot

It smacked me in the face this morning.

When I got into this space of leadership development and peak performance, I started a company called Success Through Play.

It was based on an idea—a theory.

I believed there was something there—within play—that could open up a world of possibilities for human potential.

As I sit here now, I realize I just didn’t fully understand it at the time.

I needed to explore.

I’ll spare you the details—other than saying, for me, sport is a teacher.

Here’s an equation—or a proof, as my much smarter wife tells me—I encourage you to explore…

…and apply…

in your life:

Start with Joy.

Joy leads to consistency.

Consistency leads to skill acquisition and fitness.

And through skill acquisition and fitness—and I’m not just talking about the athletic kind—success follows.

I guess it looks a little something like this:

Joy —> Consistency —> Skill Acquisition + Fitness ∴ Success

Start with Joy,
