You Can Still Write the Next Line…

Last week I was working with a client.

40 years old.

Vice President.

Things got heavy. Emotional.

“How can I still not know what I’m striving for—what I want to be when I grow up? It seems like it’s too late.”

These sessions are hard.

On paper—externally—this person is wildly successful.

Inside, though, hurting.

I like this guy’s music.

Yesterday, I discovered a new album: Hank.

It features wisdom from Charles Bukowski.

And came across this gem:

“If you can’t write the next line, well, you’re dead. The past doesn’t matter.”

To the 40-year-old Vice Presidents of the world…

To all of you…

To anyone with a beating heart…

The past doesn’t matter.

It’s not too late.

You can still write the next line…
