You Win Some & You Lose Some

“Gosh, I felt so terrible during that first set, but totally surprised myself during that second set.”

This was Taran Panduranga’s comment to me as soon as I struggled to finish the last 25 of a 300 kick.

He finished over a 25 in front of me.

“Funny!” I thought to myself. “I surprised myself during the first set and felt terrible during the second set.”

And that is just the way it goes.

Sport is an amazing teacher for life.

Some days you win a whole workout and some days you don’t.

Some days you win a set and then, immediately after, you lose a set.

And, some days you may only win one interval and then you lose the rest.

Not too much different than life.

You win some days and you lose some days.

You win some hours and you lose some hours.

You win a minute and then you lose a whole bunch.

Either way, though, no matter what, you keep showing up.

Because it’s in the successes and the failures that we make progress.

It’s always a penny in the piggy bank.

And, over time, those pennies add up.

Onward.
